The College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Circle recognizes alumni and friends who provide generous annual support to the College of Arts & Sciences. Annual, sustaining gifts impact each of the College’s 19 departments and 15 inter-disciplinary programs in meaningful ways, enabling the College to address its most pressing needs. Support of the College encourages innovation, drives research that can change life as we know it, and provides valuable experiences to students through opportunities like education abroad, Passport to the World and Living Learning Programs.

Alli Peoples graduated in spring 2018 with her bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Spanish. Upon graduation, she moved to Madrid, Spain, where she is currently working as an English Language and Culture Assistant at the bilingual primary school, CEIP Lepanto. At Lepanto, Alli not only plays an active role in English instruction in the classroom in multiple subject areas, but also in helping students to develop a multicultural mindset.
"We're living in an increasingly global society. College costs more than it did before, and parents want to make sure it's setting up their children for the future," Mark Kornbluh, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, said. "I've gotten to know a lot of alums from our college, a lot of very successful people. In later life, they realize their liberal arts education was key to their success as a businessman or businesswoman."

Cynthia “Didi” Rapp (Russian Studies, BA ’75, Geography, MA ’76) spent four decades as a public servant and closed out her career as the chief of staff for the director of the CIA. Did was inducted into the College of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame in 2022.

Language and culture majors will connect one-on-one with alumni to learn about professional pathways and potential careers. Breakout sessions with alumni and students will be grouped by field - business, government, non-profits, and law/medicine/education.

The University of Kentucky Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has announced that recent College of Arts & Sciences philosophy graduate Benjamin Troupe, of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, was named a finalist for the Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship.
