Though he no longer lives in Kentucky, Sociology graduate Bob Burke still comes to Rupp Arena now and then for a game. He graduated in 1970 and has landed in Greensboro, North Carolina, serving as President for the Colonial Group. In this interview, he talks about how he came to Kentucky and what came after - and how he wants to give back to the University that helped him along his path to success.

University of Kentucky alumni Debdas Mukerjee graduated in 1962 with his Ph.D. in genetics. After UK, Mukerjee contributed his expertise to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center before his career finally carried him to the Environmental Protection Agency where he was a Senior Environmental Health Scientist for the United States. 

Local book conservator and letterpress printer Alex Brooks graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2003 with a degree in English. He graduated from a Master’s program in Book Conservation in England at West Dean College in 2012. In this interview, Brooks talks about his experiences at UK and in England, and how he is putting his knowledge to use around Kentucky. 

In the 1970s, Brad Swope attended the University of Kentucky. A journalism and general studies major, Swope went on to become part of the Swope Design Group as the Marketing Director. During his time at UK, he started bringing his dog, Blackberry, to campus with him. In this podcast, he shares some memories of UK, some advice for current students, and stories about his canine companion. 

Daniel Weiner doesn’t just have one degree from the University of Kentucky but three—the last of which is a Ph.D. in statistics. From UK, Weiner transitioned into a career within the pharmacometrics field where he is now a Senior Vice President at the Certara Corporation offering scientific software and consulting services to the pharmaceutical industry.

The fight for human rights isn't over - and one A&S alum is at the forefront of advocacy for individuals in the criminal justice system. Stephen Bright graduated from the University of Kentucky with degrees in law and political science, and is the President and Senior Counsel for the Southern Center for Human Rights

From the Bluegrass State to the far corners of the world, an A&S education is a solid foundation for any future. After completing a degree in History in 1968, Phil Marcum moved into a career with the U.S. Military that spanned thirty years.
