Biography:

I am the Hardin-Drnevich-Huang Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky, with a joint appointment in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science. I am also the current Department Chair for the Department of Civil Engineering.

Research Interests:
Laboratory Testing of Geologic Materials
geohazards
Unsaturated Soil Mechanics
Applied Geotechnics
Research

The primary focus of my research interests is applied geotechnics. Within this focus, my expertise includes landslide hazard assessment and prediction, laboratory testing of geologic materials, geophysics geotechnics, performance of civil infrastructure, and numerical modeling of geotechnical systems. The intent of my research efforts is to develop innovative methodologies and technologies, centered on increased resiliency and sustainability of civil and geotechnical infrastructure.
