Outstanding Faculty Peer Mentoring Award
This Award recognizes faculty peer mentoring activity during the five years prior to the semester the Award is given. Nomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A one-page letter of nomination from the Chair in the nominee’s Department
- A 1-2 page statement from the nominee about their involvement in peer mentoring
- Feedback from up to 2 colleagues who benefitted from the mentoring experience (limited to 1-page per colleague)
- The nominee’s cv
Outstanding Graduate Student Mentoring Award
This Award recognizes mentoring activity during the five years* prior to the semester the Award is given. Nomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A one page letter of nomination from the DGS or Chair in the nominee’s Department
- A 1-2 page statement from the nominee about his or her supervision of graduate students
- Information on students supervised and their subsequent employment (up to 3 pages)
- The nominee’s cv
*A Career Award in Outstanding Graduate Student Mentoring will also be considered for faculty with 20 or more years of Graduate Student Mentoring experience at UK or elsewhere. In this case, the summary (#3) should consider students over the entire period (the 3-page limit still holds).
Outstanding Undergraduate Student Research Mentoring Award
This Award recognizes mentoring activity during the three years* prior to the semester the Award is given. Nomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A one page letter of nomination from the DUS or Chair in the nominee’s Department
- Information on students supervised (up to 3 pages)
- A 1-2 page statement from the nominee about her or his supervision of undergraduate research
*A Career Award in Outstanding Undergraduate Student Research Mentoring will also be considered for faculty with 20 or more years of Undergraduate Research Student Mentoring experience at UK or elsewhere. In this case, the summary (#3) should consider students over the entire period (the 3-page limit still holds).
Award for the Promotion of Diversity or Inclusion
This Award recognizes activity prior to the award year. NNomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A one page letter of nomination from the Department Chair or a colleague
- A 1-2 page description of service or engagement written by the nominee
- The nominee’s cv
- A 1-2 page letter from someone either who personally or whose organization benefited from the nominee’s service or engagement
Award for Excellence in Teaching Large Courses
This Award recognizes someone for their teaching in the five years prior to the current semester. Any course with 125 or more students qualifies as large. Nomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A one page letter of nomination from the departmental chair or a colleague
- A 1-2 page narrative written by the nominee that describes and analyzes the course(s) as well as its pedagogy and successes
- Syllabi for all courses with enrollments >125 students taught during this period
- A numerical summary of course evaluations for the two TCE questions labeled as "overall course score" and "overall instructor score". You may also include written comment excerpts not to exceed 1 page.

Award for Innovative Teaching
This Award recognizes activity during the five years prior to the current semester. Nomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A one-page letter of nomination from the department chair or a colleague
- A 1-2 page description and analysis of the innovations involved written by the nominee
- Any other relevant material the nominee wishes to submit (up to 5 pages)

Outstanding Teaching Awards
These Awards recognize excellence in all aspects of teaching, not just classroom performance. The College makes four such Awards every year, one in each of the divisions of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural & Mathematical Sciences and one to a lecturer. All tenured and tenure-track faculty members with full-time or primary appointments in the College are eligible for these Awards, as are all lecturers and senior lecturers. The one exception is faculty members who received such an Award in the past five years. Each Award carries a one-time stipend of $1,500.
Nominations are invited from all faculty members in the College and all University of Kentucky students. Nomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A 1-2 page letter of nomination
- A one-page cover letter from the Chair (or the DUS or DGS if the Chair is not nominating)
- No more than two additional letters of support (1-2 pages each) from faculty and/or students
- A 1-2 page personal statement on teaching
- No more than 2 sample course syllabi
- A numerical summary of course evaluations for the past four semesters. You may also include written comment excerpts (not to exceed 2 pages)
Distinguished Service or Engagement Award
This Award recognizes impactful activity inservice to UK, to the applicant's academic discipline or to the broader local/national/international community prior to the award year. Nomination packets will be due February 24, 2023 and should include
- A one-page letter of nomination from the Department Chair or a colleague
- A 1-2 page description of service or engagement written by the nominee
- The nominee's cv
- A 1-2 page letter from someone either who personally or whose organization benefitted from the nominee's service or engagement
