Merit Reviews (FMER)

In the 2017-18 academic year, the college is required by university regulations to complete performance reviews of anyone and everyone appointed in the regular, special, lecturer, or research title series.  The only exception are those on phase retirement.

The menu on the left should help guide you through the FMER Process.  Please note that the information you are required to submit varies depending on whether you are a newly-hired tenured professor, an untenured professor, or a lecturer.  Please be sure to click on the appropriate link.

The department-level ratings, as determined by the chair in consultation with a departmental faculty committee, play a key role in the college's evaluation process. The Associate Dean of Faculty will review the ratings assigned by the department but substantially defer to them. Discussions between the Chair and the Associate Dean regarding any differences of opinion will take place before the Chair communicates ratings to his/her faculty members. The Dean's Office will also monitor the process for fairness within departments and for compliance with the Administrative Regulations.
