WELCOME TO THE COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES ADVISING CENTER!
*Students planning on graduating in May of 2017 need to submit their graduation applications by November 30th.
We are here to help you with any questions regarding Academic Advising, Course Approvals, Transfer Credit, Internships, and more. You should meet with your advisor at least once a semester during the Priority Registration period to discuss your courses for the following semester.
A&S ADVISING CENTER INFORMATION:
The A&S Advising Center office is located in 202 Patterson Office Tower and our office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

We offer walk-in advising for A&S students who have faculty advisors and for students who have a primary major in another college. Walk-in advising takes place Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. Please go to 202 Patterson Office Tower (POT) and wait to be seen by the on-call advisor. You should expect wait times of up to 30 minutes if you come to walk-in advising.
Students with a Professional Academic Advisor
FIRST YEARS AND SOPHOMORES, ECONOMICS, INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, MATH ECONOMICS, POLITICAL SCIENCE AND TOPICAL STUDIES MAJORS:
Students who have earned 0-59 earned hours, or are in the following majors, Economics, International Studies, Math Economics, Political Science, and Topical Studies, will be advised by a professional advisor. Your assigned Academic Advisor listed on your MyUK account on the Plan and Register for Courses area. Here is how to make an appointment with your assigned professional academic advisor:
- Go to MyUK
- Click on MyInfo
- Select: MyAppointments
- Choose: College of Arts & Sciences
- Select: General Advising/ Priority Advising
- Select the appointment time that works for you

Students with a Faculty Advisor
JUNIORS AND SENIORS:
Students with 60+ hours will be advised by a faculty member in their department. To make an appointment with your faculty advisor, pleae contact them directly using your @uky email address.
Health Society and Population Studies Student Advising:
Students whose primary or secondary major is HSP will be assigned a faculty advisor from the co-Directors and the Faculty of Record. Students are required to meet with their HSP advisor at least once per semester, prior to registering for classes for the subsequent semester.
WHAT TO DO WHEN PREPARING FOR YOUR ADVISING APPOINTMENT:
- Run an APEX Audit on MyUK
- Make a list of courses/requirements you are considering taking the following semester
- Write down all of your questions
- Be prepared to talk about your goals, academic progress, and any problems you might be experiencing in classes

- Post-midterm withdrawals
- Reinstatements after a second suspension
- Suspension process and probation
- Suspension appeals
- Course substitutions for students with learning disabilities
